John Henry Flowers

Mr. Flowers was born on December 14, 1923 in Bartow County, Georgia, son of the late Rev. Grady George Flowers and Stella Mae Stephenson Flowers. He was a retired Service Station Operator and had a Fruit Stand. He was a member of the Church at Liberty Square. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert Austin Flowers and Dayton Ohio Flowers; grandson, Richard Blake Cowart; and a great-granddaughter, Journey Ann Cowart.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Cagle Flowers; 2 children, Barbara Flowers Cowart and Johnette Flowers Stewart and husband Junior all of Cartersville; grandchildren, Todd Cowart, MaryJohn & Tony Chapman, Johnny Tab Abernathy all of Cartersville, Dr. Ty Abernathy of Starkville, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Mandi Cowart, Cam Cowart, Karlie Cowart, Anna Grace Chapman, Tennessee Skye Abernathy all of Cartersville; great-great-grandchildren, Eli Billet, Ali DeFord, Charlie Blake Cowart Gravely.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 7th at 12:oo P.M. at the Church at Liberty Square with Pastor Joe Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow in the Providence Cemetery. Mr. Flowers will lie in-state from 11:00 to 12:00 at the church.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Ty Abernathy, Johnny Tab Abernathy, Tony Chapman, Todd Cowart, Junior Stewart and Bill Graves. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Raines.
