I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Mother -- she was my beloved Aunt and she was loving and positive to me as a child.  You were both children and may not remember when she and your Father used stay at our house (Bob's sister, Nellie) in between churches during the years that your family was evangelizing.  My Father (Vic) had been burned on 70% of his body and those were very tough days during and afterwards.  Your family took me to church and prayed with me.  They both treated me as a person and not just a child.  I will never forget walking past their room and seeing your Mom and Dad on their knees praying out loud for their children and for us.  Your Mom and Dad truly loved the Lord and their children -- I was blessed to have known them both and witnessed them living the same inside and outside of the church.   

Ms. Irene was such an anointed spiritual example/mentor to me.  She always greeted everyone with a smile and a hug.  She was an inspiration as we watched her pour love into each generation of her family.   Ms. Irene was a true ‘giver’ as she shared her life in ministry, never thinking of herself!  I will miss her so much, until we all meet again in heaven.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Irene. When we moved here from Florida and attended the same church, she and Pastor Bob made us feel so welcome as we were in the same Sunday School class and she was a huge blessing to us!! Her smile and loving kindness will always live in my heart ! Praying for her beloved family the Holy Spirit’s comfort at this hard time!

Irene always carried the joy of knowing Jesus everywhere she went. The peace and love she carried could be felt by all who were in her presence. I cherish all the times we worked together at Trinity Chapel in Pastoral Care. Irene  always carried a healing touch to so many others she called or visited. Our prayers and condolences are sent to all of Irene’s  family as I know she will be missed. So thankful to God for sharing her with all of us. I know she is waiting for all her family and friends to join her in heaven. 

Irene was such a kind hearted, and genuinely loving woman, I will never forget her warm hugs she would give me at church on Sunday's. She always encouraged me to keep singing. I have many fond memories of times spent with Irene and my grandparents [the late Rev. Jack and Faye Matthews], she was such fun to be around, never a dull moment with Irene in the room. My love and prayers go to you all, may the Lord wrap you in his comforting embrace. 

I must of been 13 or 14 years old, in the 1970's. Her family was at Hattiesburg Church of God.  Sister Irene could play that piano, truly Gods special gift to her.  I remember her as most kind and a gentle soul.   Her life touched many people!!!

Sister Cox and I were camp counselors in charge of 20 little girls back in 1976 at Church of God Youth Camp in Jackson MS.  We were responsible for getting those little girls up and dressed in the morning, (hair groomed, shoes tied) off to  breakfast on foot, all over those beautiful grounds for softball games, arts and crafts, swimming and to church at the tabernacle every night. It was lots of fun but exhausting! Could have never accomplished it on my own and Sis Cox was wonderful! So sweet and loving! A very godly woman and mother figure! I have never forgotten that special time and her sweet ways!

Jeff and I LOVED Brother & Sister Cox from the first time we met them! You couldn't mention one without thinking of the other one. They were what we call a TRUE Pastor & Wife Team. They led by example! How many Pastors and wives would actually HELP you physically MOVE to another home? They did! We will also never forget their precious, faith-filled prayers as they prayed for us when we had needs. They (and many others at the Cumming COG) prayed faithfully for God to give us a miracle for our darling son, Stephen, while he was still in the womb. He had no lungs at 6-months into the pregnancy. God heard the cry of our hearts and gave us an absolute MIRACLE of making those little lungs grow and push that fluid out! He was delivered WITH complete lungs 3 weeks early! He was such a blessing to all who knew him! PRAISE GOD!!!

We are so thankful for such Prayer Warriors as Bro. Bob and Sis. Irene Cox! They were always genuine with their love, generosity, and good deeds. They put their love into ACTION! 

We miss them both so very much and are so thankful to have been given the honor and privilege of knowing them and having them as our Pastors and friends! Oh, how much they dearly loved their own children, grandchildren, and their siblings!!!!  They always spoke about all of you with such LOVE!

Sister Irene has now joined her beloved Bob, in Heaven, never to be separated again. We will miss you so much, Dear Woman of God!  We pray that our Lord surrounds all your family and friends with His Great Love and Peace. We will meet again in Heaven! We love you, Sister Irene Cox! ❤️❤️❤️

Irene was truly a Proverbs 31 woman and one of the finest women I have ever know. I was in church with her at Lindale Church of God. Hold to God's hand as she did and He will carry you through and on to be with her and Bob. God bless you. Lynda Eden

Brother and sister Cox meant the world to us and our girls.  We have so many memories of the years they pastored us at Cumming Church of God.  Those were some of the best years of our lives! They went out to eat with us almost every Sunday night and several others. Brother Cox hardly ever ordered a meal because he knew our little girls would have lots of leftovers and he would get a free meal😂
Irene was one of the classiest ladies I’ve ever met in my life and to this day are at the top of our list of best pastors!!!
If I had to go to the ER they would beat me there, always brought meals and best to visit us! They’re both irreplaceable here on earth, but what an asset to heaven!

I was saddened to hear of Irene's passing. She has been a friend for over 50 years. We met when her first husband and my husband pastored small churches on the same district. We shared special times with Bob and Irene and they blessed our lives with their love and generosity.  On a couple of occasions they brought us groceries because they felt God was prompting them to do so.  Little did they know how we were struggling to make ends meet. They simply followed the leading of His Spirit. I will always have fond memories of Irene. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Loved you so much.. In Hattiesburg, she was an awesome leader!! We loved her so much. My deepest condolences to the family.. 

Irene was a beautiful lady in and out. She loved God and her family with all her heart.
