Mrs. Grace Knight

Mrs. Knight was born March 28, 1927, in Manhattan, N.Y., a daughter of the late Raphael Monti and Gabriella Monti.

She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Cartersville, member of the Cartersville Country Club and was retired office manager for Cartersville Undergarment, being employed there from 1956 till 1985. Mrs. Knight loved birds and bird watching, Italian cooking, loved her family and served as the mentor to younger family members facing adulthood. She was active in her church and church family. Mrs. Knight donated her time on Election Day to help with the polls. She also helped those in literacy programs, teaching those in need to read.

Preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Knight in 1992, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Clare Knight of Los Angeles, Calif.; her grandson, Liam Knight; her brother, Joseph Monti of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister-in-law, Mariana Monti of New York; nieces and nephews, Rochelle Zaino and Katherine May, Mark and Rose Zaino, Regina Monti and Murray Becker, Ralph and Margaret Monti ,Tommy, Karen and Rick Monti, , and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be said on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Dan Stack officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 till 8 p.m. Wednesday.
