George Hugh Andrews Jr.

Butch was born October 10, 1952 in Dothan, Alabama, son of the late George Hugh Andrews, Sr. and Mary Emma Snellgrove Andrews. He was retired from Georgia Power and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Butch was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He graduated from Dale County High School in 1971 and was a star football player, track and basketball player. He was Mr. Dale County High School, received the most athletic award, and senior favorites. He received the Outstanding Teenagers of America Award. He was a Jack of all trades that loved to work with his hands and went out of his way to fix and create things for others. Whether building bird houses for friends, fun adventures for his grandkids, donating to the homeless, or fixing a broken sink for the family, he loved bringing joy to those he touched. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hansel (Bubba) Bateman; niece, Katrina Hargett; nephew, Brock Hudson.

Survivors include his children, Whitney Lynn Kovacevich and husband Kevin of Cartersville, Jeffrey Blake Andrews and wife Julie of Cumming, George Hugh “Trey” Andrews III and wife Becca of Cartersville; grandchildren, Will Andrews, Katie Andrews, Samuel Andrews, Lucas Andrews, Caylon Kovacevich, Brock Kovacevich; sisters & brothers-in-law, Judy (John) Hargett of Cartersville, Sally (Merrell) Tanner of Enterprise, AL, Donna (Gary) Hudson of Enterprise, AL; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Saturday, June 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Blackwell officiating.
