Gary L. Ray

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, C.J. Ray and Doris Ray; Wife Faye Morris Ray; daughter, Lorie Cumbee, brother-in-laws, Jerry Hackney and Jeff Morris. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (James) Layton; ; grandchildren, Lea (Andrew) Ward, Lauren Vinall, Jordan Vinall; great grandchildren, Dawson Warner, Blakeston Warner, Jacie Ward, Maddison Ward, Zackary Ward; sisters, Janice Hackney, Gwen (Ronnie) Reeves, Cindy (Kirt) Moss; brother-in-law, Danny (Pam) Morris; several nieces and nephews.

Gary was a member of Brandon’s Chapel Baptist Church in Stilesboro. He worked for the State of Georgia DOT for over 40 years. He loved his church family, enjoyed mowing grass and watching Base Ball.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Shepard officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with Ronnie Reeves, Kirt Moss, Jordan Vinall, Dawson Warner, Blakeston Warner and Andrew Ward serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
