Faye Conway Leatherwood

Faye Conway Leatherwood , age 82, of Adairsville , GA, , went home to be with Jesus on December 17, 2024. She was born on November 18, 1942, to the late Arnold and Marybelle Conway. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean Crowder, her grandson, Austin Leatherwood, and her son-in-law, Tim Hicks.

She is survived by her two children, Bryan “Luke” Leatherwood (Lorrie) and Carla Hicks; grandchildren, Will Leatherwood (Meghan), Christina Hovarth (Austin), and Stetson Hicks. She was also the proud great grandmother of Jaydon, Lawson, Ferrin, Hollis and Anders Hovarth and Jett Leatherwood.

Faye was a lifelong resident of Bartow County and a proud graduate of Cass High School. She served in the Bartow County School System for many years where she became a favorite of both staff and students. Her love of children and their welfare led her to eventually being an integral employee of the Department of Family and Children Services. After retiring from DFACS, Faye continued her secondary employment with the now Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center until her death.

Faye brought mischief and fun to everyone she had ever known, in every place of employment, any church she attended and the many places and organizations she so graciously volunteered. She loved pranks and jokes, especially those she initiated. She was a friend to all. Her love for her friends and family knew no boundaries. She was generous to a fault and spent her entire life putting the needs of others before her own.

Pallbearers include Randy Jackson, John Wilson, Will Leatherwood, Austin Hovarth, Stetson Hicks and Jaydon Hovarth .

The gathering of family and friends will be at Owen’s Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 12-2 pm with funeral services at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Adairsville, GA.
