Donald Hersel Nelson

Donald is preceded in death by his Wife, Ellen Nelson, parents, Everett and Grace Nelson; sisters, Erma Branstetter, Jerleen Branson; brothers, Ernest Nelson, Everett Nelson, and Robert Nelson. He is survived by his sisters, Wanda (Jim) McAlexander, Alma Schlesing; dear friend Shirley Kilgore and family.

Donald was loved by the farming community. He bred Hereford cows and had a hay business for many years. He enjoyed farming and listening to bluegrass music.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Kilgore officiating. Joe Michael Payton, Greg Kilgore, Reggie Jackson, Gene Ayers, Glen “Tex” Tuplin and Thomas “TJ” Bayes, Jr. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm at Owen Funeral Home.
