Darrell Allan Prewett

Darrell was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristin Prewett; mother, Shirley Jones; brother, Mike Prewett and Grandma Prewett.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Prewett; children, Josh Faircloth (Anna), Olivia Scott, and Allyson Gutherie (Dristen); grandchildren, Denver Gravett, Maxine Scott, Graham Faircloth, Troy Faircloth, Ella Faircloth, and Kota Guthrie.

A man of immense Faith, a Christian, and Prayer Warrior, Darrell Prewett Loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ first and foremost. He was a member of Peeples Valley Baptist Church. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting the sick, elderly and shut-in’s with his best friend and pastor, Bro. Darrell Bailey. Second to God, his family was his absolute everything. He was a devoted husband, father, and an amazing #1 Paw Paw. Darrell was a leader by example and displayed what a husband and dad should be in all walks of life. He would do anything for anyone and could be generous to a fault. He did what was right, even when it was hard and not popular. He was proud of his almost 21 years of sobriety and credited God for his incredible recovery, often mentioning his sobriety date as “the best day ever!”. Darrell showed great perseverance in the face adversity, never looking back and always looking to the future, something that his children hope to carry forward. Darrell was a brilliant man, in business, he genuinely cared for all of his employees and considered them his second family. He loved Atlanta sporting events and loved the opportunity to take his family and friends with him, especially to the Falcons and Braves games. In Darrells younger years, his family moto was “Prewett’s Can Do It”, but as his faith grew, he would say “God can do it”. Most importantly he was a respected man of God. He made sure to tell his friends and family “I lived a full life” before his passing and his last prayer was with his beloved wife saying “God, your will be done”.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home. Gathering will begin on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM, at Owen Funeral Home. An interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
