She was born on January 24, 1954, in Cartersville, GA, to William Eugene and Wilma Vaughan Rampley.
After her graduation from Cartersville High School in 1972, Carol pursued her education at the University of Georgia, where she obtained a degree in Accounting. Over the years, she established herself as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, a professor of accounting at Kennesaw State University, and a local business owner.
On April 29, 1973, Carol married Randall Joel Willis in the Tabernacle at Pine Log United Methodist Church, marking the very first wedding to take place there. On their first date in 1969, they watched "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, a memory she shared with everyone she encountered. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
Carol had a passion for cooking and trying new recipes, the Georgia Bulldogs, tennis, eating at Houston’s, drinking bloody mary’s on fall Saturday mornings, and loved her children and grandchildren like no other.
As a mother, Carol was one of a kind, always ready to go to great lengths for her children. She imparted the values of kindness and empathy to them, along with her delightful sense of humor, and her conversational skills were unmatched.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Rampley; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John William “Bill” Vaughan and Mr. and Mrs. William Eugene Rampley Sr.
Carol is survived by her husband, Randy; children, Matt Willis (Rachel), Meredith Willis Geldhauser (Derek) and Jennifer Hamilton (Brandon); grandchildren, Layla Willis, Elly Hamilton, Reagan Willis, Will Geldhauser, Wes Geldhauser, Lane Hamilton, and Sawyer Hamilton; mother, Wilma Rampley; brother, Tom Rampley.
