Mrs. Betty was born on October 24, 1935, in Acworth, GA, a daughter to the late James Monroe Cox and Laurel Sumner Cox.
Mrs. Hufstetler was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years. The most important thing in the world to Mrs. Betty was her family; she dedicated her life to being a devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of fourteen Carl Hufstetler; three brothers, Donald Cox, Clinton Cox, and J.R. Cox; one grandchild, Anthony Norris; one great- great grandchild Riley Stoud.
She is survived by her daughters, Frances Calhoun (Gary) of Acworth, Alice Mauldin (Dennis) of Emerson, Ruby Petrella (Mike) of Daytona Beach, FL., Deborah Turner (Jerry)of Hiram, and Frankie Clark (Bernie) of Adairsville; sons, James Norris (Betty) of Cartersville, Bill Norris (Kathy) of Dayton, TN., and Robert Norris of Cartersville; sisters, Carol Johnson of Acworth, Sherry Lankester of Acworth, Gloria Cox of Powder Springs, and Tina Dewberry of Acworth; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren; and a special friend Herman Jones.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at ten o’clock in the morning, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church in Acworth with Rev. Brad Dewberry officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Calhoun, Harley Mauldin, Dorian Mauldin, Michael Fletcher, Jake Parker, and Johnny Atkins.
Visitation will be held from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
