Mary Fern Moore

Moore, Mary Fern 91 of Reno, Nevada passed away peacefully October 8, 2024. Predeceased by her husbands, Maynard E. Waters, Jr., and Thomas W. Moore, her parents, Brady Everett and Leah Grace Daniel (Morgan), 11 siblings, sons Maynard Guy (Butch) Waters and Mark Randall Waters. She is survived by her children Karen Kathleen Cook, Sandra Waters (Dan Scoggin), Judith Fisher (Eric), and David Waters (Mary), grandchildren Megan Savitt (Joshua), Rachael Whitefield, Jeunne Waters, Renee Pilling (Jared), Elliot and Ava Fisher, great grandchildren Aaliyah, Elijah and Rebeka Savitt, Olly, Lexi and Mila Pilling, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Odem, Texas, Mary moved to Blythe, California as a child. She raised her family in Blythe, El Centro and later moved to Placerville, California where she volunteered as a Deacon in the Federated Church. Following the death of her second husband, Thomas Moore, Mary lived in Green River, Wyoming and Reno, Nevada.

Always ready to pitch in, Mary helped with her grandchildren, the Oregon-California Trails Association and various Election Boards. Mary was a thoughtful friend and neighbor. A real woman of valor.

A graveside service was held on October 17, 2024 in Yuma, Arizona.

A memorial service will be held on October 25, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
