In the presence of his loving wife, Barbara, and his children, Tonya and Dan, James "Jimmy" Dottellis Jr., Age 80, passed away at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on February 24, 2023. Jimmy was born July 13, 1942 and grew up in Galloway, West Virginia. He is the son of James Daniel Dottellis Sr. (late), and Theresa Maria Greco (late). Jimmy served in the U.S. Army and retired after 30+ years with Giant Food Corporation. He was an avid thrill seeker and was a NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Driver for more than 30 years. He is the oldest son of six children, his brothers, Eugene Dottellis, John Dottellis, Patrick Dottellis, Doug Dottellis, and step-sister, Charlotte Reynolds-Tucker.
Jimmy was a loving husband to wife Barbara Dottellis, father to daughters Nichole Weaver-Dottellis (late), Tonya Dottellis, and son Dan Dottellis (Monica), grandfather to Nicolas, Danyle, Rachel, Bridget, Jackson, Jena, Devin, Jose, Daniella, and Mia, and great-grandfather to Vincent, Anastasia, James IV, and Danny.
Jimmy had a love of cars and all things fast and mechanical. His charming nature and compelling personality created friendships with everyone he met.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jimmy. He loved to spend time with friends and family, playing golf, and eating his Maryland Crabs. He and his wife loved to travel anywhere sunny with frequent trips in their motorhome and to their vacation place in Hawaii. If there was a project to be done, Jimmy was your guy! NASCAR and Western TV shows were a favorite of his. He cherished his wild Nevada horses that roamed his property.
Jimmy was an amazing man, loving husband, proud father, and committed friend. His pleasent personality was contagious, leaving him memorable to all.
The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring doctors, nurses, and staff of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, as well as his Cardiology teams both in Nevada and at the University of Utah for their tireless efforts, amazing support, and comfort to the family during his final days.
