Sarah B. Schafer, 94 of Carrollton passed away Friday, September 7, 2012. Sarah was born in Monterrey, Mexico to Luz and Catarino Barron. Her parents moved to Dallas, Texas in 1919 where she was raised and became a United States Citizen. She attended Cozier Tech High School. In 1939 she married Robert "Bob" Schafer who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mariano Barron, Daniel Barron, Samuel Barron and Naomi B. Luis. She is survived by her daughters, Norma Echols, Shirley Marco, Jane Few and her husband Freddie and a sister, Esther Aguirre. And, also survived by grandchildren, Shirley Jane Johnson and husband Brian, Hunter Robert Miller and wife Anne-Marie, Michael Marco, Melissa Marco, Delane Few, Cindy Courts and her Husband, Eric, Tina and Becky Marco. Great grandchildren surviving are Cash, Briley, Blake, Tiffany, Tyler, Shane Michael, Madison, Hunter Rian, John Robert, Camden, Sarah Rose and Elijah and step-grandchildren,Blake Darby and Garrett Darby Echols.
Sarah had a love for cooking and gardening. She found great joy in watching her grandchildren grow into adulthood. She was a devoted Christian and will be in our thoughts and hearts forever.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 6:30 pm and chapel services will follow at 7:30 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. Entombment will be Monday, September 10th at 10 am in Restland Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the entombment should meet at Rhoton Funeral Home no later than 8:45 am.
