Linda Huff was born March 15, 1950 in Detroit, MI to the union of Gilbert and Lizzie Mae Huff. She was the second of three daughters and spent her childhood on the west side of Detroit. She grew up with her sisters, Brenda and Sherrell and they remained very close throughout her life. She graduated one year early from Northwestern High School in 1967 due to her educational achievements. She went on to work as a Customer Service Representative at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan while attending college at Wayne State University.
Linda met the love of her life, Donald Rowe, in 1973. The couple married on November 14, 1974 and later had two sons, Jason and Darrin. Linda received Christ into her life in 1978. She later joined New Creation Christian Center and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Her salvation dramatically changed her life and helped lead her husband to Christ. Linda joined Full Gospel Tabernacle in 1982, where she served as a women’s support group leader, a prison ministry worker, an usher, choir member and intercessor. In 1996, Linda joined Living Bread Ministries where she was ordained as an Elder and led the prophetic team and prison ministry.
Linda greatly enjoyed travel and vacationed across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. She also went on a mission’s trip to Lima, Peru. Linda loved to study the bible, shop, watch classic films, and stay in touch with her close friends and church family. Over the years, Linda became both a spiritual mother and advisor to many young women. Throughout her life, she continued to lend advice, pray and encourage her “daughters”.
In 2009, Linda moved to Dallas, TX along with her husband and mother-in-law. With her sons, daughter-in law, grandson, sister, nephews and cousins in Texas, she was surrounded by family in her last days. Linda peacefully passed away and went to be with the Lord on the evening of September 7, 2011. She was 61 years old.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Lizzie Mae Huff, her sister, Brenda West, her half brother, Gilbert Huff and loving mother-in-law, Letsie Rowe. Linda is survived by, Donald Rowe (husband), Sherrell Franklin (sister), Richard Huff (half brother), Corretha Huff (half sister), Jason Rowe (son), Darrin and Keisha Rowe (son and daughter-in-law), Jaden Rowe (grandson), nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 6 - 8 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11 am at Life Changing Faith Church in Frisco, Texas. Interment will follow the funeral service at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 pm in Dallas, Texas.
