Joseph Phillip Cook, "Phil" was born on January 31, 1942 in Bloomfield, IA to Joseph Phillip Cook, "Joe", and Hazel Cook. He fought a good fight against cancer for 4 years until he passed away at home on November 12, 2021. Many thanks to the people at Texas Oncology and especially to Dr. Scott Stone who was by his side throughout his journey.
Phil graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree on June 8, 1967. He was in the ROTC while in college and upon graduation, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After completing his service in the Army, he became a medical sales professional for the majority of his remaining career. In 1977 he met his current wife, Karen, in Houston, TX and the two were married in March of 1979.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, "Joe" and Hazel Cook, his sister Mary Lowe and her three children. He is survived by his wife, Karen Cook, and his daughter Robin Cook of Grand Forks, ND. He was a true animal lover and will be sorely missed by his current fuzzy friends Quigley and Reggie.
At Phil's request, there will be no funeral nor memorial service. In Lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the SPCA of Texas or the Carrollton Animal Shelter.
