The wake and viewing will be from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Texas 75006.
Memorial services will be held at Carrollton West Church of Christ at 11:00am on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Carrollton, Texas. Pastor Orlando Jackson will be officiating. Arrangements are by Rhoton Funeral Home.
Jesse Ray was born in Evergreen, Alabama to Rachel Rogers and Jesse Ray, Sr. on November 5, 1939. He married Earnestine Yvonne Ray on June 17, 1959 in Alabama. His love of the blues and various types of music led him to move to Texas in 1961. He played keyboard and was the lead vocalist in the band “Bad Boy Gene and the Blue Aces”. They played at numerous events in the state of Texas and around the U. S Later on, he became a member the band “Vintage Plus”. Jesse was also an avid golfer who won many awards. He retired as a HVAC mechanic from Dallas Medical Center Hospital, formerly R. H. Dedman Hospital where he worked for 15 years.
Earnestine Yvonne Ray (Ma) preceded him in death on March 20, 2003.
Big Jesse (Pops) is survived by Mrs. Shelba Hall, Ms. Wanda Ray (engaged), Mr. Michael Ray, Mrs. Sandra Dixon, Ms. Angelica Ray, grandchildren: Mr. Gabriel Hall, Mr. Michael Hall, Mrs. Shelba Fetty, Mr. Terrell Ray, Mr. Joshua Ray, Raeven Dixon, and Natalie Ray, great-grandchildren: Kailee Fetty, Dasia Hall, and soon-to-be Sophia Hall.
