Geraldine Moffett was born in Turnersville, Texas on December 31, 1917 and passed away on October 9, 2016 in Carrollton, Texas at the age of 98. She graduated from Turnersville High School as the Valedictorian. She graduated from Baylor University School of Nursing in 1940. She was a Registered Nurse at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Jerry, as her friends called her, married Raymond Moffett in 1941. They were married for 35 years until he passed away in 1977. She was a avid Baylor fan throughout her life. She loved Elvis Presley, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. Jerry was a member of the Norrell Class at the First United Methodist Church in Dallas for over 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband ,Raymond, her sister and brother-in-law Ruby and John Weir, her sister and brother-in-law Earnestine and Bob Neves and many aunts, cousins and dear friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and Dwain Smith, daughter and son-in-law Margie and Jim Abadie, 5 grandchildren, Scott Smith and his wife Andrea, Jill Smith, Wes Abadie and his wife Natalie, Tony Abadie and his wife Marianne, and Allison Abadie, and 7 great grandchildren, Jude Smith, Nolan Smith, Vivian Abadie, Juliette Abadie, Guerin Abadie, Sebastian Abadie, and Corey Abadie, 2 nieces, Frances Mosher and Emily DaSilva, and one nephew, Bob Neves. We would like to thank the staff at Carrollton Health and Rehab for their kindness and care during her 3 year battle with dementia.
There will be a visitation held at Rhoton Funeral Home on Wednesday October 19th from 10-11am, with the service following 11-11:30 in the chapel. Afterwards, the burial will be completed at Restland.
