Doris Jean Johnson, 71, was born on June 22, 1942, in Bessemer, Alabama. She passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
She studied at Ball State University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Ivy Tech Community College. She was a Supervisor Computer Programmer Analyst at U.S. Finance & Accounting Center, Indianapolis, IN and retired. After retirement became a Tax Advisor III at HR & Block and also a substitute teacher. She attended The Covenant Church and was in the choir and taught in the children's ministry.
She leaves to cherish her memories: One daughter, Deborah (Darrell) Tall, Frisco, TX; three sons, Tim Abrams, Dayton, OH; Rodney (Lisa) Johnson, Little Elm, TX; Gregory (Su) Johnson, The Colony, TX; nine grandchildren, Brittany Tall, Devon Tall, Jamaine Olson, Alli Johnson, Jeanae Sefton, Marissa Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Sydney Johnson, and Darius Johnson; three great-grandchildren; Camryn Tall, Anaya Sefton, and Oaklee Olson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Lloyd Johnson; her parents Sarah Lee Long and James Long; a brother, Samuel L. Long Sr.; a sister-n-law, Alfreda N. Long; and a sister, Sarah Mae Sealie.
