Charles Michael Alexander (Mike), passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, December 30, 2019. Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 25, 1955 to Charles Oliver and Quillie Lee (Wilson) Alexander. He was one of nine children and the eldest son. He is survived by his loving wife Jacki (Hazzard) Alexander, as well as daughters Kerri Gladson (Matt), Megan Alexander, and son Adam Alexander (Leah), his parents and his eight siblings, Karen Yielding (Jim, deceased); Sharon Dalrymple (Gary); Vicki Gillam (Greg); Lori Kneib (Kenny); Mark Alexander (Lori); Scott Alexander (Cynthia); Pam Garfias (Michael), and James Alexander (Paul). Mike was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was married to his wife, Jacki (Hazzard) Alexander on October 19, 1976 and they recently celebrated their forty-third wedding anniversary with a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Together, they raised three amazing children. Mike was so in love with his five grandchildren, trying to attend as many of their many sporting activities as he could. His grandchildren are Dean and Mason Gladson, Andrew Barriger, and Jackson and Anna Alexander. He is survived by 19 nieces and nephews. Mike attended Carmel High School and graduated with the class of 1973 and later attended business college. He worked in the IT field his entire career and was still working at the time of his death. His last position was as an Application Analyst at Fi-Serve. Mike really enjoyed watching professional and college sports. His favorite NFL team was the Kansas City Chiefs and he loved the Indianapolis Colts. He was also a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed the occasional cigar and socializing with friends and neighbors. In his younger years, he was an avid and skilled volleyball player and enjoyed playing on basketball leagues and running. Mike was well-loved by many people and described by most as a wonderful family man. He will be dearly missed by his friends, co-workers and loving family. Visitation for Mike will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 9th and conclude at time of memorial service at 4:00 pm at Leppert Mortuary - Smith Carmel Chapel.
