The Honorable Richard E. Dolan, Esq., 79, of North Ft. Myers passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Born November 16, 1932 to Virginia and James in Brooklyn, NY, Richard served honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He is a retired Chief of Police who served in Raymond and Loudon, NH. He is a former Court Prosecutor and Juvenile Officer. Mr. Dolan was a member of the NH House of Representatives serving the 12th District from 1994 until 1999. He was a Guardian at Litem in the Family Services Court, member of the NH Chief of Police Association, a graduate of the NJ State Police Academy and the NH State of Police Academy. An active member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Richard was a Knight of Columbus, a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Men’s Gospel Forum, a private pilot, and avid golfer and fisherman.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife Brenda, 7 cherished children Teresa (Michael) Bryant of Bradford, NH, Barbara Ryan of Washington, DC, Ilene (James) Peace of Manchester, NH, Carolyn Virtue of Northfield, NH, Kerry Rockwell of Alexandria, NH, Laureen Dolan of Concord, NH and Robert (Leah) Tomlinson of Philadelphia, PA; dear brother the Reverend Thomas Aquinas Dolan, OP; 8 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29th at St. Therese Catholic Church in North Ft. Myers between the hours of 10 - 11:30am with a funeral mass with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Richard’s name to www.foodforthepoor.org
