On April 19, 1945, she married Robert L. Cheaney. They had two daughters. In 1956, Marjorie and Bob embarked on their lifetime of foreign service. Marjorie was an exemplary wife, homemaker and mother. During her lifetime, Marjorie made wonderful homes for her family in many countries: Cuba, Republic of Panama, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia and Haiti. Marjorie and Bob retired to Pine Island, Florida where they lived until 2004. After Hurricane Charlie, Marjorie and Bob moved to Ft. Myers into senior living housing.
Marjorie is survived by her two daughters Cheryl Mickey (John W. Mickey) of Pie Town, NM and Donna Varner (Carroll H. Varner) of Lake Junaluska, NC; three grandchildren Claire, Sarah and Carroll; seven great grandchildren Carson, Henry, Alice, Lucy, Anna, Marjorie, and Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews.
