Jose Lazaro Peña

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Lazaro Peña, a beloved husband, father, and abuelo, who set sail on his final journey on November 14th at the age of 71. A man of immense love, kindness, and devotion, he leaves behind a legacy as deep and vast as the ocean he adored.

Born on December 17 1952, Jose was a man who felt most at peace with the sea beneath his feet and the salty breeze on his face. Boating wasn’t just a hobby for him—it was his sanctuary, a place where he found freedom and joy. Whether guiding his vessel across calm waters or navigating life’s unpredictable tides.

A gifted craftsman and a fixer of all things, there was nothing Jose couldn’t repair, whether it was a broken engine, a leaking roof, or a loved one’s aching heart. His hands, calloused from years of hard work, were gentle in their care and tireless in their service to others. He was always the first to offer help, no matter how big or small the task, and he found purpose in ensuring those he loved had all they needed.

More than anything, Jose was a family man. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Jose, was a steady anchor, a guiding light of wisdom, and an endless source of love. His unwavering love for his family was evident in everything he did—whether it was teaching life lessons, or simply being present in every moment that mattered. His family was his pride, his joy, and his greatest accomplishment.

Jose leaves behind his loving wife, Mercedes Peña; his children, Lazaro Peña, Joseph Peña, Jessica and Christopher Pistone, and Daniel Peña; his cherished grandchildren, Lazarus Peña, Cyonie, Dominic, and Emilia Pistone; Alexey and Evelyn Peña; Sophia and Olivia Peña; as well as a wide circle of family and friends who were blessed to know his kindness and warmth.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, sailing calm and endless waters, forever carried by the love he gave so freely.
