He is survived by his three sons, David M. Lotti of Peachtree City, GA, Phillip Lotti of Greensboro, NC, and Mark S. Lotti of Atlanta, GA. George is also survived by his six grandchildren and ten Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his eldest son Gary and grandson Stephen.
George completed high school in Columbus then two years of college at Ohio State University. In 1943, George enlisted in the USAF and received his wings as an aerial navigator in 1944. He served overseas during WWII on a B-24 crew in India. He was discharged as a 1st Lt. in 1946. Following active military service, George joined the Civil Service serving with distinction for 34 years.
George and his wife Nancy raised their four sons in Warner Robins. GA; where he was active in community and church life, he was a member of Sacred Heart Parish where he served on the parish council, lector and song leader. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and he supported development and growth of Sacred Heart School.
While in Warner Robins, George was a Director of Citizens State Bank and also supported area Little League activities.
George and Nancy traveled through Europe following a brief retirement from Civil Service after which he accepted a consultant position with Sierra Research Corporation, Buffalo, NY for five years. He permanently retired in 1975 and relocated with Nancy to Tara Woods in North Fort Myers, Fl. They subsequently relocated to Grand Court, and later to Gulf Harbor condominiums in Fort Myers. They made a final move to Gulf Coast Village community in Cape Coral, FL where George volunteered his time as “Giving Tree” Chairman, and sacristan for St. Andrew Parish at the facility.
A viewing will be held on Thursday at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery from 4-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, February 26, 2016 (today) beginning at 11:30 AM, St. Andrew Catholic Church. 2628 Del Prado Blvd. Cape Coral, FL 33904. Entombment immediately following in Coral Ridge Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
