Claudia Gail Cioffi

She was born in Waukegan, Illinois on December 5, 1935, to Irene Ziniewicz Matison and Clyde Leon Matison and is the beloved Widow of Louis “Luigi” Cioffi.

Claudia graduated from Valley Stream Central High School, in Vally Stream, New York, in 1953. Her first job she worked for a cabinet maker, and it was then that she met her husband, Luigi; they were married February 17, 1957, in Lynbrook, New York. She worked at Madonna Heights, in Dix Hills, New York from 1972 to 1982 until the family moved to Cape Coral, Florida.

She worked for the City of Cape Coral, Florida from 1982 to 1998, as a Zoning Technical and Plans Examiner. She volunteered at Christ Lutheran Church as a bookkeeper and Cape Coral Hospital in Cardiac Rehabilitation. In addition to her family, she took special joy in bowling, cruising and playing all types of games.

She is preceded in death by her sister Arlene Matison.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Marie (Cioffi) Schulz (James) of Fort Myers, Florida; three granddaughters, Valerie Anne (Schulz) Wheeler (Christopher) of Cape Coral, Florida, Justine Marie Schulz (Adam) of Arlington, Virginia, and Stephanie Caroline (Schulz) Ball (Christopher) of Cape Coral, Florida; two great grandchildren, Madeline Louise Wheeler, and Arlo Thomas Wheeler; and her sister Patricia Tegeler of North Fort Myers, Florida.

The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., December 16, 2024, followed by the funeral at 12:00 noon at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Florida, 33991. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church, a place close to her heart.
