Butch was born in Marlin, Texas on November 19, 1947. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School and soon married the love of his life Rosie Lee Moore Carnes and remained happily married for 54 years.
Butch worked at Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie for his entire career where he retired in July of 2003 and then moved to Chandler to enjoy his retirement. Butch was actively involved at West Lake Baptist Church in Chandler where he enjoyed serving in the food pantry, loved people and loved the Lord. He was also a proud Master Mason in good standing.
When not at church you could find him working in his yard, gardening or working in his shop on various projects, most recently restoring his Dad’s 1971 International Scout.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Secrell Dudley Carnes and Nina Eolean Carnes of Chilton, TX,
Butch is survived by his wife Rosie Lee Carnes of Chandler, TX, his son Robert Carnes and wife Tammy Carnes of Hideaway, TX, his grandson Chase Carnes of Grand Prairie, TX, his grandson Blake Carnes of Austin, TX and his sister Nina Montgomery and her husband Bill Montgomery of Grand Saline, TX.
A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Haven of Memories in Canton, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
