Paul Edward Irwin

Paul Edward Irwin, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born on May 2, 1946 in the Bethlehem community near Wills Point, Texas. Paul spent his early years in Cockrell Hill, Texas. He attended Kimball High School in Dallas. He met the love of his life, Janice Luckett, at the Cockrell Hill Church of Christ. He and Janice were married on November 14, 1970 and enjoyed 51 years together. They were blessed with two sons, Bryan Paul and Brady Edward. Paul was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served four years in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at various places, including Guam. After retiring from his military career, he worked for TXU while pursuing other interests, including home remodeling and real estate. He retired from TXU in 2000, where he was an investment recovery specialist working at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Granbury, Texas. After retirement, he devoted his time to working at the family’s dessert shop (Bahama Mamas) and spending time with his four grandchildren. His grandchildren reminisce about spending many nights at their Grandaddy and Gigi’s house growing up. They fondly recall trips to the donut shop and playing with their grandparent’s goats. Paul was known by all for his playful sense of humor, his outgoing nature and his devotion to the Lord. He was a loyal friend, and could always be counted on. He was a faithful member of the Canton Church of Christ, where he served as an elder many years ago.

He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Travis Irwin, and mother, Christine Odell Foster Irwin.

Paul is survived by his wife, Janice Luckett Irwin; son, Bryan Paul Irwin and his wife, Catherine Lewis Irwin; son, Brady Edward Irwin and his wife, Sharon Daniel Irwin; grandchildren, Sloan Bryan Irwin, Lewis Paul Irwin, Bella Marie Irwin and Liam Edward Irwin, all of Canton, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Irwin and wife, Betty of Krum, Texas, brother, Howard Irwin and wife, Johnnie of Longview, Texas, sister, Lynda Landreth and husband, Charles of Farmers Branch, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.
