Pam grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas, with her younger sister. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School and went on to attend Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth where she was active in the Chi Omega sorority. After graduating with honors holding a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Pam earned her Master’s Degree in Education from North Texas State University, now known as UNT.
Pam enjoyed a long (or 40 year) career in education. Her love of teaching started at a very young age, and her sister, Suzanne, used to brag that she was probably her very first student! She spent most of her career teaching 5th grade at Bowie Elementary in the Richardson ISD. She took great pride in her school and students and shared her passion for learning with thousands of children over the years. After retiring from full time teaching, she continued to administer an after school program inspiring students, parents, and teachers alike.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling in her free time. She was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, where she sang in the choir for many years. Pam was blessed with three wonderful daughters and a granddaughter and treasured the time spent with family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sarah Smith; niece, Kinley Jones; brother in-law, Max Jones; and Aunt, Maxine Susong.
Pam is survived by her daughters, M’Lynne Moore and husband Joe Bordonaro, Carol Ann Thimot and Melissa Moore; granddaughter, Blair Bordonaro; sister, Suzanne Smith Jones; niece, Lacy Jones Gomez; nephew, Kyle Jones; and many cousins, extended family and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held Monday, January 31, 2022, at 2pm at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pam’s memory may be made to the Max K. and Suzanne Jones Leadership Scholarship fund at TCU P.O. BOX 297045 Fort Worth, TX 76129.
