Linda Marie Townsend

Services for Linda Marie Townsend, 72, of Edgewood, will be held 2 pm Friday, January 24, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Bryan Easley officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Townsend passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at her home. She was born January 2, 1948 in Delhi, LA to Frank Brooks Fitzgerald and Floy Estell Eller Fitzgerald.

Linda grew up in Louisiana and worked for AT&T before marrying Jerry Townsend on April 18, 1968. They moved to Texas in 1969 and lived in the Highland Community for the past 45 years. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, crocheting, giving gifts, sending cards on special occasions and cooking, especially Sunday lunches for her family. She was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Edgewood.

Mrs. Townsend is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Floy Fitzgerald; son, Stephen Townsend; and two sisters: Jane Weslow and Carolyn Boykin.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Townsend of Edgewood; two sons and their wives: Keith and Donna Townsend of Tyler and Jason and Kari Townsend of Canton; six grandchildren: Jeriod, Joshua, Grace, Faith, Rachel and Courtney; one great-granddaughter: Emma Grace; daughter-in-law: Paige Ritterbach of Edgewood; and a niece: Baby Joy Aubin.

Family will receive friends one hour before the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeriod Townsend and Joshua Townsend.
