Larry went home to the Lord on October 16, 2021 in Canton, Texas. He was born on August 7, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to Manuel Martinez and Rose Speer Martinez.
Larry grew up in Utah. He enjoyed hunting with his dad and going camping with family. Larry served in Navy and Marines. He served in the Vietnam War, doing three consecutive tours while in the Marines. Later in his life he reconnected with his buddy's the "Horrible Hogs" and was a proud member of the 3/11 Marines Association. June 24, 1987 is the “got together day” for Larry and his one true love, Julie Adams. The couple married on January 29, 1989 and have spent 32 wonderful years together. Larry and Julie enjoyed traveling and living in many different place before settling down for the last time in Canton. Larry had worked for the city of Canton a few years earlier, when the couple lived in Canton and he was a volunteer firefighter during that time. He enjoyed pool, darts and being on the bowling league. Larry was a life time member of the VFW. His best day was spending the day on the golf course with his nephew, John, then coming home and enjoying time with family. Larry will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Martinez; daughters, Debbie Sue and Tina; granddaughters, Jessica and Amanda; six great grandchildren; his mother, Rose S. Martinez; brother, Duane Garcia; beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Martinez; brother, Harry "Marty" Martinez; sister, Debbie Martinez Guire.
