Juanita Melton Griffith

Mrs. Griffith passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at her home. She was born February 28, 1940 in Jefferson, TX.

Juanita was a member of the Assembly of God. She lived in East Texas all of her life. Juanita married Richard, the love of her life, in 1981. She was a loving mother and nanny. Juanita loved watching the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros. She also enjoyed dancing, playing games and crocheting.

Mrs. Griffith is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae and Marvin Houston Owens; brother, Cecil Wayne Melton; sister, Eva Jane Harrell; and two grandsons, Jason Colt Grimes and Ricky Brickford.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Richard Griffith of Tyler; daughter and her husband, Karen and Tony Melton of Canton; son, Jimmie Charles Grimes, Jr. of Tyler; son, Henry Houston Grimes of Frankston; daughter, Kathy Diane Cox of Tyler; twelve grandchildren: Kathy, Kelly, Kevin, Krista, Karla, Todd, Lillie, Nikki, Taylor, Jayme, Misty and Kerry; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Courtney and Peggy Henry; and brother, Jerb Melton.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Ward, Joe Glenn, Brad Melton, Leslie Melton, Brandon Melton and Zac Crump.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
