We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Nixon. We have such fond memories of her from our days at CHS. Jason’s memories revolve around the basketball court and Mrs. Nixon’s cheers and her love of the players and the game.  Rachel’s memories include her Senior English class and her telling us not to tell anyone she wasn’t really as mean as everyone said- that we had to keep it a secret and not ruin her rep! Haha! The world is less one amazing human without her in it. 

Mrs.  Nixon was one of my favorite teachers. She would always ask me whenever I seen her in the stores or out eating if I would come to the 8am service and sit with her. Well, being I have 3 children we usually make it to the 10:30am service with all the other families. She is the reason I meet my deadlines and have a love for writing. She will be so missed by so many of us. Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Kevin your momma made a huge impact on so many of us. Our prayers are with your family during this difficult time. 

Some teachers make a mark on your heart. Mrs. Nixon did that for so many of us. Thoughts and prayers to her family, friends and the community. This world lost a true hero.

Mrs. Nixon touched so many lives during her time here on earth. Thank you to the family for sharing her with so many of us over the years! She was one of a kind and will be dearly missed but her legacy will live on forever in our hearts. It was truly a blessing to have known her. 

Sending prayers, love and hugs to the family! May you find peace knowing we will all be united again one day! Until then, enjoy your memory and dreams of her. Be Blessed! 

Mrs. Nixon was a wonderful teacher.  I enjoyed her class and how animated she was while reading us the literature we were learning about.  She prepared us well for college!  My college English classes were easier than her Senior English class!  She was always at my basketball games and was very supportive of me.   We had a great relationship and she was supportive of me in my coaching career!   I loved her very much and I am grateful for the memories that we shared together.   

A few years ago Jimmie and I were visiting while in Wal Marts. She shared with me that some of my former students had told her 
that I was the Mama Nixon of Junior High. What a compliment!Some of her former students shared with me that their first year of college was easy because she had prepared them so well. There is no better profession than teaching and serving children. Jimmie you rank  among the best.

So sorry to hear this news.  Whenever I think of Jimmie  two places immediately come to mind:  Canton High School and First Baptist Church of Canton.  I was always so proud to call her my cousin, and have met so many people over the years who recall her as an English teacher.  Not the least of which is my younger sister, who became an English teacher herself and has always credited Mrs. Nixon with being the best teacher she ever had, including grade school and college.  We will all be reunited someday, thanks to Jesus' victory over death and the grave.  Until then, my thoughts and prayers are for the family.  God bless you.

I enjoyed working with Jimmie in the Wednesday Study Club and on the Canton Museum Board. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always willing to assist both organizations in any manner needed.  It was my pleasure to have known  and work with her.

My prayers are with you.  Mrs. Nixon was a very special lady and a great teacher.  I think of her every time I'm helping my children with their English school work. " cakes & pies are done you are finished"

It was a true blessing to have someone like her in such crucial years of high school. It was apparent that she not only held high expectations for each of her students, but that she unlocked the secret to instilling our own high expectations within ourselves. I have always attributed many of my personal successes stemming from taking her AP English class. She was a force, our own personal academic drill sergeant - one that was shaping us into productive and “life-ready” adults without us even realizing she was doing so. Those types of figures always stick with you, as she will for me. Thank you, Mrs. Nixon. 

Mrs. Nixon was a very special lady. She was one of my son’s favorite teachers. She will be missed.

Mrs. Nixon was an awesome teacher. I really learned a lot from her. My Heart and Prayers are with the family, friends and anyone who’s lives she touched.  

Mrs. Nixon personified dedication to service, excellence, and the Canton community! She mentored me in literary criticism UIL competitions where I learned so much ... she was always pushing me to learn even more! She once told me I’d do better at the competitions if I’d spend more time studying and less time running!! What a wonderful wit she had!! I know she’ll be rejoicing in Heaven when we join her there one day! 

Dear family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Nixon was a wonderful English teacher and a sweet lady.  She will be missed by many.
