Jerry Dean Thornton, 76, of Canton passed away November 11, 2024 at his home. He was born November 7, 1948 in Borger, TX to Grover Horton Thornton, Jr. and Wilma Hazel McLain Thornton.
Jerry grew up in Borger, TX and Terre Haute, Indiana. After serving in the US Navy during Vietnam, he moved to Canton. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the 243 Church of Christ.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Thornton; daughter and son-in-law, Mari Ann and Allan Stubbins; grandchildren: Ashton and Avery Stubbins; twin brother, Gary Don Thornton; niece, Michelle Thornton; and brother-in-law, Billy Estes Rawson, Jr.
