Jerry Walton Pugh

He passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Athens, TX.

Jerry was born on November 18, 1943 in Dallas to Fred and Nettie Walton Pugh.

He grew up in Pleasant Grove Community of Dallas & attended W. W. Samuel High School. He drove a truck for Sears for 26 years before going to work at TXI and retiring in 2008. Jerry married Judy Usrey, March 23, 1961 and they later moved to Canton in 1972 where they raised their children. He loved deer hunting , horses, watching PBR, and playing with his grandchildren. Jerry was a Christian by faith serving as a deacon for over 30 years and teaching Sunday School Class spreading his love and knowledge for the Lord. He was also very active in the Lonestar High School Rodeo where he was a big influence on young adults.

He is survived by his Wife, Judy Pugh of Canton; Daughter, Alice &Dwayne Clements of Canton; Daughter, Denise & Marty Daugherty of Canton; Daughter, JeriAnn & Benny Kimbrell of Canton; Grandson, Jerry Clements & Kaycee Bielss; Granddaughter, Jamie Clements & Corey Green; Grandson, Cody Daugherty; Grandson, Kolemon Weatherford; Granddaughter, Kinsley Saunders; Great Grandson, Caiden Green; along with Thomas & Debbie James, Stormi & Josh Steed, Colton James and a host of other family & friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents, Fred & Nettie Pugh; Son, Phillip Lynn Pugh: and Brother, Richard Pugh.

Pallbearers are Lyle Sikes, Johney Childers, Larry Thompson, Justin Waisath, Mack Brewer, and Justin Priest. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Clements, Cody Daugherty, Kolemon Weatherford.

Visitation will be Tuesday night August 23, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Eubank Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Little Hope Cemetery in Wood county.
