J. Ismael Lugo-Cervantes

A funeral service for J. Ismael Lugo-Cervantes, 57, of Ben Wheeler, will be held 2 pm Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Rev. Jimmy Heslop officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mr. Lugo passed away May 16, 2019 in Tyler. He was born April 10, 1962 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Bernardo Lugo and Felipa Cervantes.

Ismael was a Catholic. He was a heavy equipment operator for L&L Asphalt for many years. Ismael loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed working outdoors in his flower beds and garden. Ismael was a handyman and enjoyed wood working. He loved his chickens and dogs.

Mr. Lugo is preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Felipa Lugo; three brothers: Jesus, Pilar and Jose; and his son, Fernando Ruiz.

Ismael is survived by his wife, Lucy Lugo of Ben Wheeler; daughter, Lucy Lomas of Tyler; daughter, Yoli Lomas of Lindale; son, Eugene Lomas of Tyler; daughter, Luly Campos and her husband, Mario, of Tyler; son, Robert and Wendy Ruiz of Ben Wheeler; daughter, Bertha Ruiz of Canton; daughter, Marci Cortez and her husband, Cristo, of Lindale; and daughter, Yolanda Lugo of Mexico; twenty-three grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four brothers: J. Andreas Lugo-Cervantes, Juan Lugo-Cervantes, Felix Lugo-Cervantes and Paulo Lugo-Cervantes; sister, Guadalupe Lugo-Cervantes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12-2 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
