Glenda Sue Hazel

Glenda went home to the Lord on May 12, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born on August 22, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to H. E. Stutts and Gwendolyn Terry Stutts.

Glenda grew up in Rockwall and graduated from Rockwall High School. In February of 1977 she married her one true love, Joe Richard Hazel. The couple had 37 wonderful years together at his passing in 2014. Glenda was Baptist by faith and was a strong Christian woman of faith. She owned the Picket Fence for several years and she had 26 plus years with Walmart. She was loved by customers and co-workers alike. Glenda enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. Glenda was a collector of beautiful things – she would say she was an “Organized Hoarder” Her biggest joy was planning and doing activities with her grandchildren– making special memories. Family time was the best; a wonderful day with all the grandchildren and family would make her beam. Glenda will live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, H. E. and Gwendolyn Stutts; beloved husband, Richard Hazel.

Glenda is survived by her sons: Chance Hazel, Derek and Maygan Hazel; daughter, Shelly and Darris Maxie; grandchildren, Hunter Hazel, Madison Hazel, Layla Hazel, Jexson Evert, Wynona Hazel; brothers, Mike and Lynn Stutts, Mark and Julie Stutts; brother in-laws, David and Bonnie Hazel, Clifford Anderson.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the funeral home.
