Gene Womble

Gene passed away at his home March 23, 2019.

He was born November 20, 1948 in the Walton Community to Thomas Richard Womble and Alta Oleta Wilson.

Gene grew up in Walton and graduated from Canton High School in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Sue Elliott, January 25, 1969. The couple just celebrated 50 years of marriage. Gene enjoyed reading, gardening and hunting for arrowheads to add to his collection. He was a very quiet but sweet Christian man.

He is survived by his Wife, Sue Womble; Daughter, Melissa & Sean Baker; Son, Wesley & Summer Womble; Son, Justin Womble; Grandchildren: Alyson Womble, Westin Womble, David Womble, Kylee Lookabaugh, Hannah Baker and Karah Baker; Brother, Altos & Dean Womble; Brother, Eldon & Allie Womble; Sister, Barbara & Charles Hill; and Sister, Bea Archer.

Gene is preceded in death by his Parents, Thomas & Alta Womble; and Brother, Dellos Womble.

Interment will be at Chinquapin Cemetery in Van Zandt County.

Family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
