Gary left this world and entered the gates of Heaven on March 23, 2022 in Canton. He celebrated his 72nd birthday on February 18th.
Gary was born in Dallas, TX to Jessie and Lennice Davis Pritchett. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Gary raised a multitude of kids working maintenance for Alcatel and then The State Home in Corsicana where he retired. He was a mason for many years. On November 9, 1991, Gary married DeEtta "De" Pritchett. These two brought together 9 kids and created their own unique family. All 9 kids have special memories, such as the time he was chasing Sonny in the yard and fell and rolled across the driveway. Then there was the time Blake brought a girl home to meet his dad for the first time and Gary twerked in the kitchen. He didn't run that girl off though, she married Blake. Gary loved to laugh and have fun, no matter what he was doing, whether it be sitting on the bank fishing, working cows, or just visiting and "blowing smoke" as he would say. He loved his family with everything he had.
Gary was preceded in death by his dad, Jessie Pritchett; his second dad, Glen Thompson; brother, Bryan Dale Pritchett; daughter, Trena Sickel; and granddaughters: Morgan Parrish and Candice Henshaw.
Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, DeEtta "De" Pritchett; his mom, Lennice Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Randy Spurlock; sons: Gary Wayne Pritchett, Jr. "Sonny," Adam and Ann Pritchett, Blake and Daffnee Pritchett and Randy McCollum; daughters: Terri Klein, Michelle Williams, Sharon Buckley and Paige and Lonnie Ritterbach; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
