Dorothy Herron Solomon

Services for Dorothy Herron Solomon, 87, of Carrollton, are scheduled for 12 pm Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. David Fortner officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mrs. Solomon passed away December 29, 2016, in Carrollton. She was born December 23, 1929, in Edgewood to Alvy and Gordie Watson Herron.

Dorothy was a Baptist by faith. She grew up in Fruitvale and spent most of her adult life in Dallas. She loved NASCAR Racing. Dorothy was a good mother and grandmother. She was very loyal to her family. She loved her fur-babies.

Mrs. Solomon is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Solomon, Jr.; parents, Alvy and Gordie Herron; brothers: Kelly and Cecil Herron; sister, Barbara Fite; brother-in-law, Jim Fite; sister-in-law, Beatrice Herron; and brother-in-law, Morris Wheat.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Debbie Solomon of Carrollton; son, Roger Solomon of Arlington; granddaughter, Amanda Solomon of Arlington; her beloved pets: Pogo and Paxton; sister, Glo Wheat; brother, Gene and Beverly Herron; sister-in-law, Lucy Herron; many nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Pallbearers are Lance Herron, Jordan Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Rusty Herron, Ronnie Herron and Randy Benton. Honorary pallbearers are Christian and Jonathan Bourquin.

Visitation will be 12-2 pm Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday, January 2, 2017.
