Billy Wayne Nixon

A graveside service for Billy Wayne Nixon, 85, of Canton, will be held 10 am Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Mr. Nixon passed away November 8, 2020 in Tyler. He was born September 9, 1935 in Martins Mill to William Simpkins Nixon and Ruby Baskin Nixon.

Billy graduated from Martins Mill High School before earning his Master's Degree from North Texas State University. He married Jimmie Jones on July 11, 1959. Billy taught school and coached for over 30 years. He enjoyed working on his farm and raising cattle. He had a passion for the Stock Market and enjoyed learning about and watching companies and their stocks. Billy was an active member of First Baptist Church in Canton where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kelby Nixon and Kevin Andrew Nixon, II.

Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. For the safety of family and friends, masks are required and social distancing should be observed.
