Ruth M Wood

Ruth was born June 13, 1927 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Charles and Selma (Cupkee) Bleisch. After she graduated from high school, Ruth went on to graduate from beauty school and then pursued a career as a secretary for Diamond Rio/White Motors in Lansing, Michigan. In 1963 Ruth and her family moved to North Canton, Ohio and started working for Diebold as well as Aultman Hospital Anesthesia Associates, where she retired from when she was 72. Ruth regularly attended services at the North Canton Chapel with her daughter, Karin, for several years. She was very family-oriented and loved her family get-togethers throughout the years. Ruth was an avid gardener and political debater, as well as a sudoku and crossword puzzler. She preferred to spend her time outside enjoying the fresh air, flowers, and bird watching. Ruth loved animals, especially dogs and birds. She would participate in dog fundraisers with Karin and would walk the dogs at Stark County Humane Society. Together Ruth and Karin, made a point to collect money to purchase food, treats, and toys for the animals at the shelter, which they would donate twice a year.

Ruth is survived by her three children: Bruce (Claudia) Wood, Karin Sarai, and Gary (JoAnne) Wood; eight grandchildren: Jeremy, Kevin (Sarah), and Brian Wood, Eric (Jennifer) and Nicole Sarai, Stephanie (Dan) Miller, Christopher (Megan) Wood, and Tanya Bowser; son-in-law, Rick Bowser, sister, Patricia Brace, two step-siblings, Johnny (Marilyn) Bleisch and Sandra Nelson, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her two brothers, Karl Bleisch and Roy Bleisch, ex-husband, Clifford Wood, son-in-law, Jeff Sarai, and loving daughter, Michelle Wood-Bowser.

Per Ruth's wishes, a cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date after a Celebration of Life ceremony. Anyone interested in this, please contact her daughter, Karin.
