Larry LeRoy Teeple age 80, of Jackson Township, passed away June 19, 2018 in the peace of his own home surrounded by his family. He was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Edna (Ebersole) Teeple. He was a graduate of Jackson High School and completed a four-year apprenticeship at Firestone. He served 8 years in the Ohio Air National Guard. Always a hard-worker, Larry helped his father with his dairy farm and was employed at Bridgestone/Firestone in Akron as an instrument repairman and electrician for 42 years. He was a long-time member of Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton where he served as an usher and a deacon. He was also a member of the Coventry-Akron Masonic Lodge #83, the Valley of Akron Scottish Rite, the Firestone URW Retirement Club, and an Assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troup 265. Larry married his high school sweetheart and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed family, golf, reading, crossword puzzles, genealogy, and mowing with his John Deere tractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol Teeple. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce (Fryer) Teeple; three children, Katherine (Dr. Bruce) Marshall, Jeffrey (Lisa) Teeple, and Pamela (Geoffrey) Taylor; five grandchildren, Victoria (Zachary) Engel, Brett Taylor, Elizabeth Marshall, Diana Teeple, and Daniel Teeple. The family wishes to thank his nieces and nephews, Jeanne and Brent Gent, Ron and Kim Schneider, and David and Linda Schneider; Crossroads Hospice, and all of Larry’s special caregivers for their loving help.
Masonic Service will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. followed by Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home in Canton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton or Crossroads Hospice in Green.
