Iona Alda Allen

She was born in October 1, 1917 on Pittsburg Road and lived in the same house for 80 years. She lived at the Danbury for 9 years and was living with her daughter and son-in-law at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1992; parents, Theodore and Cevilla Myers; brother, Paul; and sister, Mildred Kreiner.

She drove school bus for North Canton for 21 years, retiring in 1978. She attended Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren when she was able.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and David Dretke; son, J.P. Allen of Wooster, OH; four grandchildren, Ron (Nikki) Allen, Chad (Nicolina) Dretke, Jason Dretke, Christine Allen; five great grandchildren, Heather Schonaur, Alexis and Emma Dretke, Morgan and Brodie Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Gunderman of Elkhart, IN and Rev. Harley Flory of Defiance officiating. Interment will be in North Canton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7pm on Wednesday and one hour before services (10-11am) on Thursday at the funeral home.
