Hugh Edward Gross

Hugh E. Gross, 91, of Massillon, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022.

Hugh was born on August 18, 1930 in Canton, to the late Lloyd and Lucille Gross. He attended North Canton Hoover High School and then joined the Army, serving until he was honorable discharged in 1953. During that time, he served in the Korean Conflict. Hugh took over his father’s business, LA Gross & Sons Cement Co., and co-owned it with his brothers for 50 years until he retired. Hugh married Pauline Harry and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before she preceded him in death in 2003. Hugh loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson.

Hugh is survived by his daughter, Cindy Molesky, and his grandson, Matthew (Bryana) Molesky.

Along with his parents and beloved wife, Hugh is preceded in death by his son, William Gross, and nine siblings, Evelyn, Harvey, Hubert, Marvin, Pearl, Ruby, Viola, Whitney, and Lloyd Jr.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens at 10:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2022.

The family would like to extend a warm “Thank You” to Amherst Meadows and Harmony Hospice for the care they provided to Hugh. Arrangements are under the direction of Karlo-Libby Funeral Home.
