Donald Cox

Donald Cox, 96, of Canton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after a happy life spent with his family and friends. He was born August 12 1926 to William and Lillian Cox of Canton.

He was predeceased by his three brothers: Robert, Emerson, and Jimmy Cox, and his sister Betty Barnes; and nephew Timothy Cox.

Don graduated from Canton Township (South) High School, where he excelled in baseball. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed at Portec of Canton as a die sinker for 37 years. He was a member of the Greater Ohio Showmen's Association for decades.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia, married for 76 years; his beloved son and best friend, Dean Alan Cox of Canton; his daughter, Barbara George, son-in-law, James R. George; grandson, Jason George, all of Allentown, PA; and three nieces.

A private service was held May 5, 2023 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, Canton, and his final resting place is Sunset Hills cemetery.
