Cynthia “Cindy” Mary Ann (Cobb) Rosedale, 67 of Canton, passed away peacefully Friday, January 22, 2016 surrounded by her family. Cindy was born in Canton, Ohio at Aultman Hospital on October 23, 1948. She was the first child of Irene Bernice (Headrick) Cobb and the late Martin Charles Cobb.
In addition to her father, Cindy was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Dr. Raymond S. Rosedale, Jr., brother Michael Cobb, sister-in-law Marilyn Yvonne Rosedale and brother-in-law James R. Wolfe.
She is survived by her children, Raymond S. Rosedale, III of Las Vegas, NV; Amy E. (Edward) Rath of Buffalo, NY; Jordan W. (Dawn) Rosedale of Canton; Holley H. (Ron) Sharpe of Canton; Michael T. (Heather) of Chicago, IL and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Ballantine of Canton, sisters Deborah Fraga of Canton, Michelle (Mark) Jahn of San Diego, CA, Dianne (Mark) Stucky of Medina, OH, brother Todd Cobb of New Orleans, LA and sisters-in-law Lorraine Rosedale Wolfe of Burr Ridge, IL and Mary Cobb of Lake Worth, FL. Cindy is also survived by twenty nieces and nephews.
Cindy was a 1967 graduate of Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Ohio. During her time there, she was an accomplished flautist and pianist. She had an appreciation for classical music and the arts and received numerous awards as a flautist including the John Philip Sousa, which recognizes superior musicianship, dependability, loyalty and cooperation. She was also a member of Band of America and participated in high school state band contests during her four years of high school and consistently received Superior ratings for both flute solos and ensembles. Cindy was also Head Majorette of the Carrollton High School Marching Band, first-chair flute of the Carrollton High School Concert Band and pianist of the Carrollton High School Stage Band. She was a member of the Carrollton High School Scholarship Team and Carrollton High School World History Team.
After settling in Canton, Cindy held many leadership positions and volunteered for numerous charitable organizations including the Canton Museum of Art, Town Hall Lecture Series, Mercy Service League, Junior League of Canton, Ohio, Stark County Historical Society, and St. Michael Catholic Church. Cindy also was instrumental in bringing the exhibition “Kimono As Art: The Landscapes of Itchiku Kubota” to Canton and served as a member of the Board of Directors. Cindy also recently made a gift to Mercy Medical Center’s new Emergency Room Waiting Area in memory of Dr. Raymond S. Rosedale, Jr.
In addition, Cindy was very socially involved in her community. She was a member of Brookside Country Club in Canton for over thirty-five years and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Canton.
Cindy and her husband, Raymond, had an entrepreneurial spirit. They were business owners of several medical imaging companies, including Shared PET Imaging and Mid America Imaging. They also owned and operated Holleydale Farms for over twenty years.
On April 26, 1975, Cindy and Raymond were married in a private ceremony at their residence on Lake Cable. It is the home they shared together for thirty-five years and always welcomed family and friends to join together and celebrate. They were both avid skiers and enjoyed time with their friends and family at Rosie’s Roost located at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, New York. Cindy also enjoyed a competitive game of Gin and Euchre with family and friends.
Cindy and Raymond were truly a forever love story. Now, they are dancing together on the moon and stars.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 3430 St. Michael Blvd NW, Canton with Rev. Fr. Don King as celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Medical Center ICU Education Fund, Care of Karlo Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road., N.W., Canton, OH 44718.
