Michael I. Bornstein

Michael was born on 6/13/1948 in Portsmouth, NH to Benjamin and Bertha Bornstein. Michael grew up in Lewiston/Auburn Maine, and graduated from Edward Little High School and the University of Maine. Michael worked as a CPA, primarily doing private and corporate taxes. His clients, like everyone in his life, adored him for his wisdom and his warm and caring nature.

Michael’s life was a blessing to so many, and he cared for everyone in his world very deeply. He was always sensitive to other people’s needs, and gave of himself generously. His volunteer work was extensive, and included Temple Israel of Manchester, the Jewish Federation of NH, North Little League, the Manchester Rotary, the NH Cancer Society, and various other professional organizations.

The focus of Michael’s life was truly and beautifully his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his wife, Rikki, his children, Jamie and Heidi, and his grandchildren. His family times were happy, memorable, and life changing because of the energy, love, and enthusiasm that Michael provided.

Michael leaves behind his wife Rikki Bornstein, his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Carrie Bornstein, and his daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Eric Pound. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Eliana, Dov, and Jonah Bornstein and Elias Pound, his sisters, Faith Canner, Lisa Brand, and Rachel Berkowitz, and his brother-in-law Jeffrey Tillman and his wife Rachel. Finally, he leaves behind many extraordinary nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Temple Sinai of Sharon, 25 Canton Street, Sharon, MA. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation of NH, 275 S. River Rd, Unit 5, Bedford, NH 03110 or to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (give.michaeljfox.org).
