Patricia Diane Hunt

Patricia Diane Hunt (87) passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family members on November 22, 2023. Pat, as she was lovingly known by her family and friends, was born to Heber and Minerva Harrison in Los Angeles, Ca on March 17, 1936. She was always proud of her St. Patrick's Day birthdate and seemed to carry the luck of the Irish with her throughout her life. As the only child of two school teachers, she was the center of her parent's world. She married Wallace E. Hunt Jr. at the age of 19 on June 24, 1955 after a short courtship. It was so short that it became a

favorite story of the family as her and Wally were married for 63 years. Her life with Wally took her to Texas, California, Oklahoma, Texas and finally back to her cherished California. Along the way she and Wally had 5 beloved children.

Pat was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her daily life was always filled with her family and friends. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and as a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints she spent much of her time in service to others. She served in many various callings within the Church and had a special place in her heart for the youth and women’s

organizations. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was a pillar of light and love to those around her. Pat fell in love with travel at a young age and continued to travel the world with Wally, family, and dear friends. It was hard to name a place where she had not explored. What started as a spontaneous purchase of a hippopotamus figurine quickly turned into a large collection, making her the "Hippo Grandma" to her grandchildren. Pat was also passionate about Brigham Young University and could talk

for hours about BYU sports, especially football, to the chagrin of University of Utah fans.

Pat was a natural gatherer and loved hosting parties and events. She was the ultimate host and graciously cared for those around her. She touched so many lives over the years with simple acts like sending personalized cards, timely phone calls or finding just the right gift for someone. Pat made everyone feel treasured and loved and she will be missed dearly by those she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her eternal companion of 68 years, Wallace E. Hunt Jr. Pat is survived by her children and their spouses; Dennis and Lori Hunt, Marsha and Corey Pace, Elizabeth and Mark Van Langeveld, John and Heidi Hunt, Jeff and Kitty Hunt and her precious 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held on December 9, 2023 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, CA.
