Debra Louise Reed, 62, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Harrisburg Hospital on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Debbie was born on December 10, 1953 in Sedalia, Missouri to Carroll Edward “Smoke” Reed and Mary Esther Keefer. The family later relocated to Littlestown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Littlestown High School in 1971, and then attended Central Penn College, where she studied Fashion Merchandising. Upon graduation she took interest in the railroad and later began working as a Clerk for Conrail in March of 1974. After moving up in the ranks with Conrail, Debbie purchased her home in Camp Hill. She later met the father of her children, Roger ChinSue, and gave birth to her two beloved children, Britney and Landon. Debbie took great pride in her work and continued to work for Norfolk Southern where she retired as a Yardmaster in Lancaster in March of 2016, after 42 years. Debbie had many hobbies including watching horse racing, golf, woodworking, painting, traveling to new destinations, as well as yearly trips to the beach. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Carroll “Smoke” Reed. Debbie is survived by her significant other, Don Leo Jones; mother, Mary Esther Reed; her two children, Britney and Landon; her brothers, David (Melinda Reed) and Andrew (Claudia Reed); her sister, Lori (Steve McDaniel); her grandson, Bodhi; her nieces, Casey, Nikita, Brooke; her nephews Shawn, Blake, and Braden; and her favorite dog, Tanner.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania 17011. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Debbie to the American Lung Association. Cards of condolence may be mailed to 3121 Columbia Ave, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania 17011.
