Steve Stanley Koebel

Peacefully and surrounded by family at home, Trapper Steve Koebel, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the age of 64. He will be missed by wife Sheri Koebel and daughters Sandra Koebel Brown and Stephanie Koebel (Nick), his two grandchildren Dustin and Chelsea Brown ‘the two best hunting and trapping partners he ever had’, son in-law Jeff Brown and his sisters Joanne Haggerty and Brenda Koebel. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Steve was predeceased by his parents Stan Koebel and Lorraine Mercer. He was a long standing member of the Pioneer Sportsmens Club and the Galt Sportsmens Club, an active member of the Grand Valley Fur Council, the Ancient Mariners Canoe Club and the Preston Legion, Branch #126. He was an avid Hunter and Trapper….. for Steve, this was his religion. A very heartfelt thank-you to his fishing and best canoe partner, Marilyn. The family also wishes to thank the many friends, PSW and Health Agencies that helped them with Steve’s care during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Pioneer Sportsmens Club “Tree Planting Program” would be appreciated.
