Sandy will forever be loved by her husband Michael, and their children Christopher, Jason and Mark, and their partners. Precious memories are left with her grandchildren, her sister Wendy, and several nieces and nephews. Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Minnie and Reuben (Gus) Pelz, and her brothers Charles and Denton (Bud). Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all the caring people who accompanied her on her last journey: the staff at Patty’s Place and Creekway Village, her St. Andrews School alumni and friends, and so many others.
Always outgoing and approachable, Sandy made people her priority. As a greeter at her church, Sandy was always striking up conversations with newcomers and long-time members, making them feel welcomed and loved. She would often stop to speak with strangers in public and brighten their day. Sandy's smile was genuine and warm and radiated her love for others. A very classy lady, Sandy will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Family and friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario N3H 3J8 (519-653-3251) on December 4th from 11:45 am for visitation with the Celebration of Life at 1:00pm. Cremation has taken place and Sandy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Sandy's memory to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
